Call Medtech4Health: Implementation of medical technology in healthcare in 2024

Purpose and goal

The project aims to establish a technical platform for digital aids in healthcare and social services in the region. The platform is expected to facilitate the introduction of medical devices and welfare technology that patients and users need for their care and support. The purpose of the platform is for patients and services to fully utilize the potential of these aids, manage them in a shared interface, and more easily share information about patients using the aids.

Expected effects and result

When connected digital aids are gathered in one interface, it reduces employees´ digital stress while increasing efficiency and patient safety. Shared use and information sharing also create conditions for more efficient alarm management, and the ability to organize care and services with the individual at the center improves, when different authorities and stakeholders collaborate. A common platform also reduces the number of integrations needed between different systems.

Planned approach and implementation

A procurement team with a broad representation from the region and municipalities is developing a requirements specification and other documentation for the acquisition of the platform. The goal is to make an award decision in Q2 2025. In parallel, a smaller team is addressing issues related to the future management organization and the conditions that need to be in place before and during a broad implementation once a platform is established. This work extends until the end of the project.
