Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to contribute to the recycling of lightweight solutions by developing methods for recycling core materials and manufacturing new core materials from recycled raw materials. The goal was to produce a demonstrator in the form of foamed PET from recycled raw materials. We have met all goals and contributed with new knowledge about how textiles can be recycled.
Expected long term effects
The project has provided new knowledge about the separation of core materials and how textile PET can be upgraded using additives.
Approach and implementation
Discarded wind turbine blades were collected and size-reduced. Foam was separated from composites. New foam was produced from industrial foam waste together with post-consumer textiles.
