RECO LAB (Recovery Lab, Sweden)

Reference number
Coordinator NORDVÄSTRA SKÅNES VATTEN OCH AVLOPP AB - NSVA, Helsingborg
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 739 714
Project duration December 2015 - May 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal has been to create an integrated testbed in full scale environment. RECO LAB will offer smaller lab scale tests, pilot tests and activities for increased behavioral changes. It will shorten the way from ideas to innovation applications and create an innovative culture. There is a detailed plan and project specification for the construction and realization of the testbed in a full scale system. The final goal has not been fulfilled within the project due to delay of the construction of the buildings. Reco Lab is now planned to open up for actors during summer/autumn 2020.

Expected results and effects

Except for goals that have been fulfilled within the project, one important effect has been the insight in the huge synergy there is by including the testbed with the show-room that is planned in the same building. We have realized that the integration of the testbed with facilities like meeting area, exhibition space and the developmental treatment plant give much more value than expected from the beginning. Through the network building, a result has been that the energy company in Helsingborg will take part of the RECO LAB so that also energy solutions will be disposed and tested.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was planned to be performed in two phases, planning and implementation. Planning includes finance model development, technical specifications and extended implementation plans whereas in the implementation phase the construction of the plan was included.
