Funding from Vinnova SEK 860 000
Project duration April 2012 - December 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim to draw attention to innovative authorities was achieved both at Kvalitetsmässan with many visitors and with the attention given to the winners of the different awards received in the media. The winners of each award usually invite to field trips and seminars, and are usually invited to other conferences to disseminate their experiences. We have every reason to expect this to happen again.

Results and expected effects

Kvalitetsmässan is the meeting place for people working for a more efficient public sector. In total over 10,000 persons was gathered attending a numerous meetings which contributes to the spreading of innovations and new thinking. 67 percent of the conference delegates felt that they came away with new knowledge and new ideas that were useful in developing their own activities. Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions has published a report on Sweden´s Best IT Municipality 2013, with descriptions of the three nominated municipalities Haparanda, Karlstad and Västerås.

Approach and implementation

VINNOVA has participated in the nomination and jury for the awards Sweden´s Most Modern Authority, Sweden´s Best IT Municipality and SveaPriset, and organized two seminars in the conference program. A successful change in SveaPriset was to change it to an innovation award where the prize money will be used to implement the innovation until 2015, and present the results at Kvalitetsmässan. VINNOVA was driving in that change. Kvalitetsmässan gathered 4,200 conference delegates and 88 percent of the delegates were satisfied-very satisfied with the seminars.
