Important results from the project

The goals of the consortium are fulfilled, and deliverables have been delivered according to the time plan. It is however too early to claim increased efficiency and decreased cost for certification; the continuation project nSafeCer includes validation of results and ideas from pSafeCer. Our own (CrossControl´s) goals are to a large extent fulfilled: we have gained much knowledge, participated in producing new knowledge and publish it, and interacted with leading companies and research institutes throughout Europe.

Expected long term effects

It is too early to fully evaluate whether the desired effects have been achieved, i.e. increased efficiency and decreased cost of certification; the continuation project nSafeCer includes validation of results and ideas from pSafeCer. We (CrossControl) however see some promising ways of working for our own near future. It is also too early to state the project´s influence on future functional safety standards, but this have been an active work package in the project.

Approach and implementation

A large consortium gives possibilities to more substantial research and results, in a way that a single actor cannot achieve. We (CrossControl) have participated in activities according to plan, and have reaches many of our own internal goals with our participation in the project. The interaction with other partners is very valuable. Such a large project also means a certain administrative overhead, a perhaps too detailed plan too early in the project, and slow progress when so many partners are to cooperate.
