Production and market adaptation of nanobio surface for the development of stem cell therapies

Reference number
Coordinator CLINE SCIENTIFIC AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 500 000
Project duration April 2013 - December 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the Vinnova project was to make a product adaptation and scale-up of Cline Scientific´s nanotechnology for use in stem cell research. Adaptation is based on an early reference customer where the successful outcome has led to product improvement as well as sales of products to more customers in the stem cell segment. With the implementation of the project Cline Scientific is considerably better equipped for the future with respect to resources, production, customers, and opportunities to attract funding.

Results and expected effects

The project was expected to give Cline Scientific a good basis to attract and deliver products to more customers, which has been accomplished. Cline has managed to attract many new customers, but overall sales has not yet reached the high-level targets. These targets are, however, expected to be met during the beginning of 2014.

Approach and implementation

Overall, the implementation worked very well and we have followed our plan. Working with milestones forced us to reflect and analyze the project along the way, giving us a flexible plan, which in turn led to some changes. For example, we adjusted our target from simply scaling up our production to also include a smarter product packaging. This change of plan was a very good idea, and it will give us a great production advantage in the future.
