Important results from the project
The goal for PEA Innovation Cluster is to increase the number of Swedish companies that use Printed Electronics. PEA will follow up and measure the outcome, following the project specific conditions that VINNOVA has for PEA 3.0. PEA Innovation Cluster has reported to Vinnova under confidentiality the bilateral company projects in a list that includes 22 Swedish companies and a total of 29 projects. The turnover for the total of 29 bilateral company projects reported includes both in-kind and cash financing and reaches a total of SEK 29,526,310, which is above the goal for the project.
Expected long term effects
During the project period, several Swedish companies have begun to develop products based on Printed Electronics and more companies have begun selling products based on Printed Electronics than before the PEA 3.0 started. But Printed Electronics is still an emerging technology that is growing from a low total turnover. An expected effect of PEA 3.0 is that more Swedish companies start development projects of new innovative products based on Printed Electronics, and that those companies that already sell Print Electronics products continue to grow.
Approach and implementation
Printed Electronics Arena 3.0 Innovation Cluster, has continuously during the project period been contacting Swedish companies, individually or in open format, in order to demonstrate and explain the opportunities offered by the Innovation Cluster PEA 3.0 and the technology - Printed Electronics. The implementation of the project plan has been important to help reach the project goal. In the future it is important to create some type of support that help SME´s to engage even more in development projects together with Printed Electronics Arena.
