Important results from the project

The project met the goals to a satisfying level. Two safety functions were demonstrated as proof of concept with good interest from the industry and two research papers were published. The third function did not fully achieve its goal, but valuable insights were made that have good potential to be used in future. There was an initiative to develop the ongoing concept study in a new direction, which led to collaborative discussions between parties that might not have arisen without the project.

Expected long term effects

Strengthened collaboration and networking between developing industrial partners and the research side can likely lead to both new innovations and new knowledge in the development and testing of automated vehicles.

Approach and implementation

The project started at pre-definitions assumed to be suitable. Based on known knowledge, two functions were developed in a new context and in a simultaneously developed system. It was based on information contributions from project partners, where unforeseen problems arose which forced an extension of the schedule. The third function was based on existing technology but in a new application which enabled studies to further develop the technology. The project cooperation was good.
