Purpose and goal

The project aims to establish a national innovation network to plan the Precision Omics Initiative Sweden (PROMISE). By connecting leading academic, clinical, and industry partners, it will develop frameworks for data-driven precision medicine, multi-omics integration, and public-private collaboration, preparing Sweden to lead the next generation of biomedical research and healthcare innovation.

Expected effects and result

The project will deliver an implementation framework, partnership agreements, and a national roadmap for precision omics technologies. It will strengthen Sweden’s innovation capacity, improve coordination between research and healthcare, and create conditions for future large-scale investments. The results will enhance global competitiveness and accelerate translation of omics research into clinical and societal benefit.

Planned approach and implementation

PROMISE will coordinate workshops, stakeholder consultations, and expert working groups to design data strategies, governance models, and collaboration structures. The process leverages national infrastructures such as SciLifeLab and Genomic Medicine Sweden. Outputs will include a strategic plan and funding proposals enabling sustainable implementation in line with Vinnova’s vision for world-leading research and innovation.
