Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of this new filter technology is to achieve better removal and recycling of phosphorus in large scale. This purpose seems possible to fulfill. One goal of the study was to research the market demand and our technology´s competitiveness to evaluate the relevance of building a test large-scale facility. The study showed that such a facility would be highly relevant, due to the strong positive response from potential customers. The second goal was to create a good application and project plan for the construction of the test facility.

Results and expected effects

The results of the pilot study were very encouraging, with large potential customers giving positive responses and expressing a desire for cooperation. The project plan for a test facility should be possible to execute in a successful manner. Being able to conduct a test in a large-scale facility means validation of technology and shorter time to commercial roll-out. This will result in large-scale improved utilization of phosphorus, reduced eutrophication and financial savings. As an export product, it would make even greater impact.

Approach and implementation

The market study began with a broad and comprehensive reach, but soon we focused on the two areas with the most customer feedback. This allowed us to achieve a deeper analysis in those areas. In the end, large scale treatment plants were identified as the most valuable segment to build a test facility for. Due to the involvement of several area experts we believe to have achieved both findings and a plan of good quality.
