Important results from the project

The project has supported municipalities in their procurement processes through guidance, meetings, lectures, and by disseminating good examples. After extensive analysis, the idea of a joint procurement was abandoned, and instead, the project has established a long-term collaboration between municipalities and industries. This collaboration contributes to making the municipalities stronger buyers by establishing more uniform requirements and also to developing the interoperability needed for further innovation and improving services to residents.

Expected long term effects

The materials and support provided by the buyer network have contributed to increased efficiency and quality improvements by addressing issues such as procurement, legal matters, and environmental monitoring within the project framework. It has served as a basis for local work in municipalities and for further work within the SKR. With funding and support from over 140 municipalities, the work will continue from 2023 to 2025 through collaboration between municipalities and industries.

Approach and implementation

The buyer network has conducted and established its work largely through active representatives from around 20 municipalities and broader workshops and seminars.. Written materials designed to be applicable across municipalities have also required supplementary specialist expertise. As the project has progressed, it has increasingly benefited from developed and existing anchoring structures within the SKR such as the Social Managers´ Network, regional representatives, and also collaboration with the National Board of Health and Welfare.
