Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to enable effective climate action across industrial value chains by making emissions data traceable, interoperable and directly usable as a shared basis for decision-making, corporate governance and continuous improvement. The objective is to establish a standardised and interoperable data infrastructure, supported by AI-based guidance, that makes Scope 1–2 data shareable and actionable throughout the entire value chain.
Expected effects and result
The project enables Scope 3 calculations to rely on actual supplier data, creating reliable foundations for decision-making and corporate governance. Industry gains shorter lead times, higher resource efficiency and improved data quality. The impact includes substantial emission reductions, with 30–50% annually initially and 10–20% thereafter becoming realistic.
Planned approach and implementation
The project consists of 6 work packages developing the ecosystem, standards, data infrastructure and AI guidance, and testing the solution in value chains. The work is iterative with large manufacturing firms, SME suppliers, technology, consulting and research actors and the finance sector. The focus lies in manufacturing with a strategic emphasis on the automotive industry. A company structure and a non-profit association governed by the ecosystem secure long-term governance and dissemination.
