Important results from the project

The objective of the planning project was to submit a well-anchored and high-quality proposal for the Swedish Chips Competence Centre, the Swedish node of competence centers for semiconductors linked to Chips JU. National competence centers are set up in all EU countries. The objective was met when the proposal was submitted via EU´s Participant portal on 1 October.

Expected long term effects

The Swedish Chips Competence Centre, with an expected start on 1 December 2024, will be the result of the planning project. During the four years that SCCC will be in operation, the center is expected to increase Swedish industry´s competence and capacity in the semiconductor area through the services offered. The main target group is new companies and small and medium-sized companies, but also large companies, academia and institutes will be important actors and will be offered the services.

Approach and implementation

The planning project was carried out in three work packages: 1) Proposal development 2) National and international networks 3) Project management The three parties participated in all three work packages. I AP1 an iterative work was carried out refining the proposal where a small group of writers was supported by a number of internal evalutators. I AP2 we cooperated with Svensk Elektronik an invited potential Swedish actors to a digital workshop. We also participated in European meetings and information meetings with other national CCCs. AP3 includes reporting to Vinnova.
