Purpose and goal
A new action oriented methodology to develop service innovations for the public sector have been designed and tested in full scale. It offers a structure for public servants, citizens and experts to in a short time collaboratively develop prototype. An international network of interested has been grown. The goals have been achieved.
Results and expected effects
64 participants in 8 mixed groups developed 7 prototype in 2 days. The participants were from the public sector, students, senior citizens, designers and programmers. 3 of the prototypes was awarded both finical and other support for being realized. A international network have grown out of the organizers, meetings and presentations at the EU offices, GlobalForum, Offentliga Rummet,Open Innovation 2.0, Sundsvall 42.
Approach and implementation
The projects has followed its plan. The PIDoT concept has been developed and refined, for instance by introducing pre-workshops to support the participants and strengthen the process. Important learnings was made on what is demanded by the hosting organization, the way groups work and the adaption to local culture and actions after the PIDoT to strengthen the likelihood of prototypes becoming realized.
