Purpose and goal

This project investigates a unique technology based on interference films that has the potential to address visual appearance, sensor, and security concerns for packaging and products.

Results and expected effects

In order to compete in today´s markets, paper and packaging producers must seek out the best possible solutions to address current needs from both their businesses and their customers. Demands exist for intelligent sensors that address product diagnosis and authenticity. In addition, packages that are attention-grabbing at the point of purchase give the producer an advantage, so new visual appearance is also required.

Approach and implementation

We will model, design, and prepare integrated interference films for two proof-of-concepts. By considering renewable sources, product safety and recyclability, the project supports a sustainable society.
