Important results from the project

The goal of the project was to secure the transition between construction and normal operation of Testa Center, including developing work routines and financial administration as well as establishing active collaboration and information exchange between the Center´s various stakeholders and "first generation" actors. The project has delivered this and Testa Center is now, after 5 1/2 years of operation, a very well-functioning test bed and innovation hub whose reputation extends far beyond Sweden´s borders.

Expected long term effects

Since opening, Testa Center has had an average occupancy rate of 69%, this included the pandemic years 2020-2021. In terms of number of project, Testa Center has to date given support to 47 financial and 23 non-financial project and completed three Testa Challenges. In addition to this, 25 academic courses have been conducted with a total of 300+ students in Testa Center´s lab, we have had 4100 visitors, Testa´s staff have presented the business at 33 conferences and meetings and posts on LinkedIn have generated 90,000 likes.

Approach and implementation

The plan for Testa Center has always been to gradually develop, based on the needs of customers/users. The center started on a small scale with a main focus on proteins and antibodies to gradually broaden towards mRNA, viral vectors and cell-based therapies, in addition to technical and digital innovations. This is reflected in our current instrument park, the skills our experts have, and our role and position in the Swedish innovation system. The analysis is that it has been a success factor to listen to the market demands and to grow according to the needs of our current and future clients
