Important results from the project

The project aimed to plan a proposal for an HE-MSCA PhD network on sustainable development in Africa. A proposal was developed, submitted and registered by the EC before the call closed. The planning grant offered the opportunity to further develop the network with a common scientific focus and a core research idea as well as several cross-cutting themes, including innovation, gender and inclusion perspectives and work-integrated learning. Thus, the project´s objective was achieved.

Expected long term effects

The project has led to the intended MSCA doctoral network application. The hope here then of course is that this proposal will be granted and that the network can thereby begin in 2026. If the proposal is not granted, the consortium will most likely improve the proposal and submit it again in the fall of 2026. Else, the project has primarily generated new project collaborations, but as mentioned above, the project process itself has contributed to developing and deepening concepts.

Approach and implementation

The project application presented a relatively thorough plan, including a schedule, for the implementation of the project. This has largely been followed, with the exception of what was mentioned under point 4, that no consultant was ever hired. Meetings, most of them digital, but one physical, were essential for the development of the proposal.
