Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to develop a proposal to Horizon Europe MSCA about a doctoral school of high relevance for sustainable development in an African context where young researchers gain interdisciplinary competence and excellent ability to contribute to sustainable development in Africa, Europe and other parts of the planet.
Expected effects and result
The expected outcome of the project is a competitive proposal submitted to Horizon Europe MSCA for a doctoral school of high relevance for sustainable development in an African context, as well as an Europeiskt-Afrikansk research network in sustainable development/green transition.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will build a network of European and African partners and develop around ten doctoral projects and a joint course programme. Researchers who will act as supervisors will, in teams of two European and one African researcher, develop interconnected doctoral projects where interdisciplinary methods are used to address challenges within the green transition, especially sustainable development around energy and urban environments, in African contexts.
