Important results from the project
The project had the objective to analyze national and international conditions and provide recommendations for creating a national innovation platform for neuromorphic technology. The goal has been achieved and is reported in the final report. One conclusion is that interest is high and that Sweden needs a strategy and research & innovation program to utilize the potential that neuromorphic technology has in the development of next-generation AI and advanced computing.
Expected long term effects
The vision and recommendations in the report have been designed to strengthen Sweden´s positioning and competitiveness in the development of next-generation AI-driven innovations and advanced computing, where neuromorphic technology plays a central role.
Approach and implementation
The national and international ecosystem was mapped and Swedish actors were engaged through an open and well-represented workshop to identify needs and propose strategies for a strong innovation system, skills development, entrepreneurship and industrial leadership. In addition, interviews were conducted with a number of companies, universities and other relevant innovation platforms.
The project team has functioned well and contributed with broad expertise from academia and industry.
