Important results from the project

NeuRehab@Home has the potential to transform the way rehabilitation can be offered by means of innovative use of smart textile technology. Our mission is to make neuromuscular rehabilitation not just more accessible, but also more effective and enjoyable, by allowing rehabilitation to be performed in the comfort of peoples’ living room. Based on data-driven insights, our product provides immediate feedback and tailored guidance. This can change rehab measures from a tedious routine to a personalized experience that adapts to the individual’s progress and preferences.

Expected long term effects

NeuRehab@Home have participated in the REACH program to develop knowledge and understanding about how products and services can be formulated, positioned, and communicated based on rehabilitation opportunities the research platform can provide in terms of rehabilitation of hand function after stroke. Both practical and juridical aspects about what it means to create and manage a company in an American context, not the least from a staffing perspective, have been very valuable to discuss and experience on-site and in the environment a future company will be positioned.

Approach and implementation

REACH activities of special interest to NeuRehab@Home include development of the project narrative (storytelling), models how to validate product, market strategy and segments, as well as business model(s) and risk analysis. The lectures and workshops provided excellent possibilities to focus and further develop our case and immerse ourselves in the ‘Silicon Valley mindset’. The insights following from two weeks of focused activities to prepare and present the business case in just a 3-minute pitch can hardly be achieved in a more effective way.
