Important results from the project
This project has given us the opportunity to learn more about the emerging makers movement across Sweden and Europe. We have created contacts with new networks and makerspace environments and been able to explore new methods and tools for co-creation and open innovation. Based on the project results we have been able to develop a frame for a hackathon event that we will implement in collaboration with makers networks and organisations in the next step, as part of a long term ambition. We have created a project page for wider dissemination of the project results at www.scienceparkboras.se.
Expected long term effects
We have had the opportunity to visit makerspaces and to meet with makers both in Sweden and Europe. We will continue to build on the project results. The project has allowed us to create a concept for a hack for fashion event to take place in Borås - aimed to inspire and show young women how they can use new technology and digital tools to contribute to social innovation through their passion for fashion and their own ideas.
Approach and implementation
A collaboration between Re:textile/Marketplace Borås, Smart Textiles/Science Park Borås, the Swedish School of Textiles and Modeink was established at the start of the project. While the Textile Museum and Borås Innovation platform has joined the collaboration towards the end of the process. The project implementation has involved an ´adaptive process´ in learning to know the emerging makers movement in Sweden and Europe, a new target group for us. The project has been very successful to us.
