Purpose and goal
The main puropse is to reinforce the Swedish activity in the field of urban ecosystem services for sustainable urban development and to ensure that it is well represented in the EU research and innovation programs as well as to gather Swedish stakeholders around targeted information and lobbying activities. The goal is to reach consensus among the Swedish stakeholders in order to influence the focus on research and innovation under Horizon 2020. The project has conducted a thorough inventory and reached broad consensus among key stakeholders regarding the advocacy plan.
Results and expected effects
We have achieved consensus among key stakeholders on an advocacy plan for urban ecosystem services.
Approach and implementation
The Advocacy Plan builds on the conclusions reached in meetings and workshops during the fall 2014 and spring 2015. Movium and Sustainable Business Hub have organized two workshops, one in Malmö and one in Stockholm. These workshops were attended by 38 participants, 7 from higher education institutions, 3 from the Environmental Protection Agency, 10 from municipalities, 14 from architectural offices / technical consultants, 1 from a county administrative board and 3 from NGOs. We have also participated in other workshops and meetings where these issues are discussed.
