Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to create long-term cooperation between Chalmers, Swerea IVF and Modul-System. An important part goalobjective was to disseminate knowledge developed in MATFLEX in a wider circle, especially at Chalmers students and to staff at the participating company Modul-System. The goals have been met, as knowledge is transferred and cooperation is progressing

Expected results and effects

The project has delivered the following results 1) A project work has been carried out between Chalmers and Modul systems. In addition, staff from the Modul system have participated in a sheetmaking course, where some parts of the material were taken from a newly acquired Masters course at Chalmers (via another project in the Education section of Production 2030). Technology dissemination of the project at Elmia Subcontractor 2016, Chalmers Internships, and lectures on Roll Forming Colloquium in Darmstadt.

Planned approach and implementation

The project manager at MATFLEX, Boel Wadman, has been stationed at the Chalmers Institute for Materials and Manufacturing Technology for a total of 20 days during the project period and has worked there and elsewhere to transfer knowledge from the project to staff and students at Chalmers, mainly within her field of specialization sheet metal forming. Knowledge transfer has taken place through work in the Institutional Council, supervision of project workers, development of industrial courses, and lectures at Chalmers, Elmia and at conferences.
