Important results from the project

The project aimed to develop a model for mission investment in the Swedish context and then test the model in practice. During the project, the model was developed and the conditions for taking the next step were established. The model will be tested and further developed over the next three years in Västra Götaland with the goal of spreading it to other locations. We feel that the project has contributed to increased interest in innovation at the system level and the need for mission managers.

Expected long term effects

Working mission-oriented in the smaller and larger perspective and using financing models that connect financing logics that make long-term, sustainable capital more accessible has great value in contributing to positive effects on complex societal challenges. We see that the model developed within this project can be used in several places in Sweden within a number of different thematic areas.

Approach and implementation

We have brought together project partners and other actors to explore the conditions and develop a prototype of a model for mission investment. Global reconnaissance and roundtable discussions have been carried out to learn and connect with cutting-edge initiatives, interviews have been conducted with relevant actors on the conditions for mission investments. We have held dialogues with potential financiers and created the conditions for testing and further developing the model in practice.
