The project has helped to systematize and increase knowledge about the organizational conditions for municipal innovation, both in the practice system and the research system. Feedback of results took place in the interviews, through workshops, seminars, lectures and through publications. Among other things, the MIO-model for design of innovation support was developed. The municipal participants underline the importance of getting support in the development towards increased innovation capacity in municipalities, since there are no role models.

During the project, the participating municipalities worked in various ways to create organizational conditions for innovation, this work has been followed by the researchers. The municipal representatives were responsible for the development in their respective organizations. The researchers followed the development through interviews, participant observation, conversations and discussions with those responsible for innovation activities in each municipality.
