Important results from the project

Eko-Portalen will increase the Swedish small-scale food producers´ opportunities to easily reach more buyers by offering an accessible platform where they can market their organic products. I Eko-Portalen already has several hundred organic food products and this contributes to increased interest among buyers for Swedish small-scale food producers according to the project´s objective. The focus on organic contributes to the sustainable transition as organic production contributes to 8 of the 17 global goals.

Expected long term effects

Eko-Portalen will increase Swedish small-scale food producers´ digital marketing to buyers and will facilitate buyers´ opportunities to find and buy Swedish organic food and drink. The portal contains clear product presentations and contact information that enables direct contact between buyers and producers to match supply and demand. This will increase sales, both within Sweden and for export, and that more Swedish sustainably produced food will be available to more consumers.

Approach and implementation

Eko-Portalen has been developed by Organic Sweden together with a reference group consisting of buyers and small-scale food producers with different types of products from different parts of the country. During the project, we conducted several reference group meetings according to plan to determine the portal´s design and functions, as well as planning for the launch, which focuses on PR and digital marketing.
