Important results from the project
The objective of the project has been to study current research on collective intelligence to identify potential measuring tools and services at micro-system level. The study confirms that there are means of measuring organizational micro-systems, and that this can be used to guide interventions and facilitation with expected results. It should be feasible to measure at micro-system and aggregate to organizational level, in order to guide allocation of resources. Hence, the study confirms that it should be possible to work strategically with collective intelligence.
Expected long term effects
The study confirms the feasability of working methodically with measuring and analyzing knowledge integration at micro-system level. 1. General collective intelligence (c-factor) can be measured. 2. Framed by a model of knowledge integration a number of measurements can be contained and used for diagnozing and guiding interventions. 3. Results on micro-system should be possible to aggregate to organizational level. Three business development projects and four potential partners have been identified. Two research projects and four research-partners have been identified.
Approach and implementation
More than 120 articles, books and dissertations have been read, analyzed and classified. This adds to the 150 articles, books etc that was the theoretical base for the dissertation (Kollektiv förmåga, Runsten, 2011), on which this study is based. The literature has been compiled, categorized and classified in a database, using the knowledge integration model from this dissertation. Based on this material our model for diagnozing and interventing in micro-system will be further developed.
