Matchmaking R&D&I 2025 Canada

Purpose and goal

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in international research and innovation collaborations. Strategic matchmaking with Canadian researchers and companies will promote new partnerships. Activities include scouting, matchmaking, and support for international applications. The project will also develop a collaboration methodology that can be reused and further developed for future international initiatives.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to result in Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises participating in Canada Innovation Days, developing project ideas, and submitting international applications. It will strengthen SMEs’ capacity to engage in research and innovation collaborations and establish new international partnerships. The project will develop a methodology for strategic matchmaking that can be reused and further developed in future international initiatives.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be carried out in 2025 and includes planning, mobilization, matchmaking, and follow-up. Initial activities involve scouting and inviting companies. A digital platform will facilitate participant matching. A physical matchmaking event will be held in Canada. The project concludes with follow-up, advisory services, and support for international applications, in collaboration with national and international stakeholders.
