Important results from the project

The project "Civilingenjör4.0", is aimed to strengthen the competitiveness of Swedish industry with unique, systematic academy-developed education. In the project, 4 Swedish Univerities have created 4 internet based modular short courses. The project complements the project Civilingenjör4.0 DNr. 2017-02461 and has registered 42 engineers from industry under the name Ingenjör4.0 and 165 academy students in 2021. The project has received attention and been granted a continuation with a focus on "life-long-learning" 2021-2024 (DNr. 2021-03458).

Expected long term effects

Civilingenjör 4.0 has resulted in an education package for academia and industry developed by 13 Universities in collaboration. The education is digital, in English and is aimed at the academy´s students at master´s level and professional engineers. The educations have been tested and used, among other things. Together with Industry companies with good results. The educational concept is strengthened by technology for participating virtually or physically in practical lab sessions. The project has led to improved training and a continued Vinnova funded up-scaling 2021-2024.

Approach and implementation

The module educations were developed in collaboration between the Production Academy´s higher education institutions, where different proposals for module content were combined together to create module teams that then developed the modules. This created an opportunity to combine the best content from the best performers nationally. Digital education via the internet was another successful effort. The implementation of module education with larger student groups was simplified, as was a clear increase in the availability- and quality of the material.
