Project duration November 2012 - October 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The overall goal for the project was to develop a general modular systems platform for ´market intelligence automation´, applicable to different data sources and possible to distribute in different formats. The ambition was to develop two applications of the platform, aimed for different industries, where the platform could be part of a broader consulting business, and where the platforms could leverage internationalization. In short, the initial ambitions and goals have been met.

Results and expected effects

The expected outcome of the project was that the platform in the long term would open up new markets, strengthen the company´s position as international analytics partner to big corporations and to increase productivity in the analytical work. All the above effects seem to be reached in a mid-term perspective. The platform has been very well received by customers and potential customers. We have acquired several new international customers. Among customers are not only Swedish and Western blue ship companies, but also clients in countries such as Russia and China.

Approach and implementation

The implementation of the project followed plan at large. Some modifications were made as a result of customer feedback. The development work has been performed in close contact with potential users and customers. A significant share of the project has been dedicated to moving a general semi-automated experts analytics platform into a set of more automated and specialized platforms. Special attention has been paid to graphical presentations methods. For efficiency reasons, a vast majority of programming has been handled in-house.
