Reference number
Coordinator NAYO AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 450 000
Project duration April 2016 - April 2017
Status Completed
Venture The strategic innovation programme for Metallic material

Purpose and goal

The purpose was to expand content and function for the base version of the site created during the previous project period. Described manufacturing methods were increased from 200 to just over 500 and a first base description of iron-based metals was created. The goal was that at the end of the project provide a customized content and features. This requires ongoing development and deepening of today´s content so that more user groups find the specific information that they are looking for.

Expected results and effects

Site is now fully launched and underlies our continued work to deepen and broaden the facts. The system is fully developed to present relevant suppliers. By connecting suppliers to manufacturing methods, we help users to contact those who are experts in the areas. A great deal of interest has been shown for the site both in industry and academia. The need for this kind of information is found to be sought and thus has the potential to strengthen Swedish industry.

Planned approach and implementation

The development work has been carried out in collaboration with academy, knowledgeable suppliers and system developers, and we have received ongoing feedback from, among other things, consulting companies in product development. Students from primarily KTH have been hired as researchers and technical writers to build the base level of our presentations. The project´s end time was moved 3m because of problems keeping a good development pace and in many cases it was more difficult than expected to find relevant facts.
