Purpose and goal

Fifteen invited professors came to the conference and altogether there are some 60 persons who participated in the activities organized in this conference during August 17-21, 2014 some of whom are young lecturers and PhD students from various universities. This academic conference has been integrated with input from industries. We have had CEOs/keynote speakers coming from Huawai, Ostnor, Siljan Skog, Vasaloppet, and ZORM Museet. For example in our group discussions at Stockholm Business School academics and practitioners are sitting together in each group to discuss and debate.

Results and expected effects

Contacts are being made with international publishers to discuss a book project and a special issue journal publication. The Stockholm University central organization has a press release on the successful organization of this project: http://www.su.se/english/about/news-and-events/west-meets-east-international-management-workshop-inspired-by-china-1.201124 Mora Kommun has also given a press on the Mora part of the conference: http://mora.se/Kommun--politik/Nyheter-Kommun--politik/Moras-utveckling-intresserar-internationella-forskare

Approach and implementation

We have produced a robust program: http://sbs.su.se/en/Research/Stockholm-Confucius-Business-Forum/International-Workshop/. Our program consists of activities both in Stockholm and in Mora, respectively, which have been implemented as planned. In Stockholm several keynote speeches were delivered by both academic and industry profiles and a grand panel debate was conducted to be followed by group work and discussions. In Mora, invited professors made close-door presentations. They climbed Gesunda Mountain, visited Zornmuseum, Vasaloppetshus, and a farm in Hansjö!
