Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to evaluate opportunities to establish a foundation for future consortiums that can apply for future Brazil - Sweden calls from Vinnova, and other funding sources. We have during the period had discussion and brainstorming sessions with out Swedish partners, and also reach out and discussed ideas with our Brasilian counterparts regarding common research interests. There are research questions that could be the basis for future projects, however, some hesitation regarding collaboration with nations on the "other side of the globe" has been raised.
Expected long term effects
The primary result from the project is that we have established new point of contacts in Brazil, and raised awareness of the potential among our Swedish project partners, and other partners. Our ambition is to continue working towards a proposal for the Vinnova call "Internationellt innovationssamarbete med aktörer i Brasilien i samverkan med EMBRAPII forskningsinstitut", given that the involved partners can agree on a common goal with mutual benefits.
Approach and implementation
As this project has been limited to planing for future calls, this is what we have been focusing on. Most time has been spent on understanding potential common research questions and identifying potential future partners. This work has been done both nationally in sweden and with out Brazilian contacts at primarily SENAI Cimatec. The Corona pandemic has somewhat limited the possibilities for face to face meetings, and might also had a negative impact on the ambition of looking into new uncertain projects.
