Knowlege Sharing Project (KSP): Sweden-South Korea Mutual Learning and Stakeholder Engagement in Semiconductor Research and Innovation Ecosystems Development

Reference number
Coordinator Stiftelsen Chalmers Industriteknik
Funding from Vinnova SEK 600 000
Project duration February 2026 - December 2026
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

The project aims to strengthen knowledge exchange and lay the foundation for long‑term collaboration between Sweden and South Korea in the semiconductor field. By establishing a cooperation platform, developing an implementation roadmap, and identifying strategic areas for R&D, the project seeks to open new opportunities for future joint initiatives and contribute to increased competitiveness and sustainable transitions.

Expected effects and result

The project will deepen understanding of the South Korean and Swedish semiconductor ecosystems through a joint comparative report and a cooperation roadmap, complemented by a policy brief with recommendations based on strategic priorities and ecosystem development. Together, these outputs strengthen conditions for long‑term R&D collaboration, innovation capacity, and competitiveness in both countries.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be carried out through two fact-finding missions to Sweden by the South Korean partners and two fact-finding missions to South Korea by the Swedish partners, including analysis and reporting of project findings. Progress will be driven through monthly digital meetings and aligned with the development of the joint analysis, cooperation roadmap, and policy recommendations for future collaboration.
