Important results from the project
FoodBest has managed the overall process and concept creation of a KIC-application that was successfully submitted to EIT in July 2016. The application scored above the EIT threshold and was pitched to the EIT board in Nov. 2016. The pitch was the highest scoring of all pitching but the competing consortium received a higher aggregated score and was chosen. We have developed Food KIC Education concepts, concepts for collaboration on knowledge transfer between industry and institutions; and finally concepts for inclusion of both large enterprises and especially SMEs.
Expected long term effects
We have secured access to the largest and most innovative food companies and most advanced research Environments, including creation of solutions to global challenges, creating growth and creating a future labour force for the future food industry. Researchers have gained access to some of Europe s most important companies and others research environments around Europe and new collaboration programmes between SMEs, large companies and knowledge institutions have been created. The activities will be continued by the FoodNexus Europe consortium outside the EIT framework
