The strategic plan of the university states that and the attitude within the organisation is positive. The university has established functions that supports both faculties as well as senior management regarding research and innovation as well as student- and alumnicollaboration. The research- and innovationsupport is handled by Grants & Innovation Office which also is part of Fyrklövern, one of twelve national innovation offices

Approach and implementation

The Key Actor Program has been diveded into three phases with external reviews between each phase, which has contributed to continouos development based on both internal and external recommendations and also related to actual needs and conditions. The set-up of the program from Vinnova has been very good and crucial for the progress; the length of the program (8 years), funding clearly defined for external collaboration and utilization but not ´micromanaged´ by Vinnova, the openness and culture within the program, both with Vinnova but also between all the ´key actor universities´.
