Important results from the project
The aim of the pilotproject has been to apply a methodological approach on intellectual property (IP) matters in traditional SMEs, in ordet to strenghten their business strategy. - Been fullfilled! The initial phase for the IUC Network was to identify interested, devoted and important SMEs workning in the industrial and industrial supportive sector. - >80 SME identified, 40 prio., >20 consultants activ. Incluced has been the ambition to improve the knowledge in the IP area and to define how a possible future supportsystem för SMEs should be outlined. - Model OK, Increased knowledge
Expected long term effects
One important result to mention is the over all increased level of knowledge given and taken among the involved parties, all in order to strenghten the business strategic IP. By running the project in the SMEs they have gained both new and more knowledge as well as new external partner to cooperate with. The IUC advisors have hade the opportunity to test and develop the 7 step model and at the same time enlarge their network of IP consultants. The consultants have been given entry to traditional SMEs, where quite a few earlier have not even looked at the IP matters.
Approach and implementation
In ordet to accomplish the IP-strategy project in cooperation with 40 selecteed SMEs, the IUC network outlined a workmodel including experiences from an earlier pilotproject, know how from PRV according IP matters and an idea of different roles in order to use public money as efficient as possible. The 7 moments included in the IUC model starts out with an identification of SMEs in the IUC regional network. Priority among the SMEs is done based on conditions and resources. The steps following based on submoments A, B, C is evaluated in each part in coordination with the SME before continuing.
