Purpose and goal

The intensions and targets with the project were achieved by arranging a conference with international speakers and audience, and by emphasizing the possibilities as well as challenges regarding industrial biotechnology for production of biobased chemicals. Also the results from the VINNOVA projects in Lund was presented by senior scientists and PhD students. This has resulted in new contacts and expanded our contact network in this field.

Results and expected effects

- A successful international conference - The results from the two VINNOVA-projects have been presented in a professional way and estabilshed our position from an international point of view - Contacts both in Sweden and abroad has been established for future cooperations - New ideas have been generated to further develop the outcome from the VINNOVA projects - Possibility for young scientists to present their findings and results and at the same time be exposed to the Swedish Industries - Present the possibilities with industrial biotechnology for the Swedish Industries

Approach and implementation

The conference was professionally organised by members from the both VINNOVA projects including some administrators from Lund University. The preparation work included: building a website, make posters, invite speakers from different fields, arrange a conference facility, food and hotell arrangements including trips for the speakers, conference dinner, marketing of the conference via facebook, linkedin, emails and also through VINNOVA.
