Important results from the project
The project has developed a model for lifelong learning where industry and academia collaborate to strengthen expert competence in advanced digitalization. Through jointly developed learning journeys, a digital platform, a format for communities of practice, a credentialing system, and pilot projects, ELL has established a scalable structure for learning in the flow of work and laid the foundation for continued expansion to 1,500 participants per year.
Expected long term effects
ELL 2, through strong academia–industry collaboration, has established the foundations for a long-term system for expert learning in Sweden. The project enables a sustainable collaboration model, a scalable infrastructure to reach more experts, and the basis for a credentialing system. Learning journeys and Communities of Practice provide lasting structures for knowledge sharing and rapid skills development, strengthening innovation capacity and Swedish industry’s competitiveness.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in close collaboration between industry and academia with clear structures across nine work packages, using a sprint-based approach with demos and continuous updates. This enabled joint development of learning journeys, CoP formats, and digital tools such as XR and AI, allowing methods to be tested and refined. The approach created high transparency, strong engagement, and a shared model ready for scaling.
