Purpose and goal

Through innovative thinking and coordinated management, we take advantage of the glass cullet as a raw material for the recycling of glass and lead The municipalities have agreed to employ a joint coordinator from 2020 The County Administrative Boards have made a joint time schedule for the Kingdom of Crystal A study on mass management A meeting with suppliers and subsequent dialogues have been held with interested actors Deposition of the glass cullets is procured separately. The municipalities own the glass and can take it back when the melting technology has been developed.

Expected results and effects

During the period, procurement according to the new model was started for two of the glassworks. Cooperation between the municipalities has been continuously developed and has led to the agreement to jointly finance a coordinator. The question of who owns the glass cullet has been resolved by agreement. By separate procurement of deposition of de glass, the municipalities can now reclaim it and use it as raw material. The cooperation continues through a new project with funding from SGI and through the joint coordinator. Close cooperation with the research has been crucial for the work.

Planned approach and implementation

Collaboration has been a prerequisite for the project´s success, as well as time. The project wants to change structures, and it takes time. In cooperation with municipalities, there must be tine enough for the political decision-making processes. There is also a need for trust between the actors, something that the project has helped to create through long-term focused work. The project has worked quite extensively with many actors involved, which has been a prerequisite for achieving lasting change.
