Purpose and goal

This project develops and evaluates smart solutions for the city´s transport problems. It has generated knowledge that can form the basis for development and innovation of policy design. The project has met its goals in terms of collaboration with the partners abroad, scientific publication and large interest from stakeholders (in Sweden and elsewhere) and media. That our research and competence is viewed as relevant and credible is demonstrated by our contacts with decision makers on all levels and public agencies in this project.

Expected results and effects

The project has designed, monitored, analyzed and evaluated real-world implementations of a range of innovative tools, policies and strategies aimed at achieving a sustainable, yet efficient transport system. The project has focused on both ´technologies´ in the sense that innovative ICT-based policies are central; and on ´behavior´. The project has brought together research groups, local authorities and case studies from many cities. This project has generated knowledge that can form the basis for development and innovation of policy design.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We have worked with the Swedish Transport Administration to evaluate the effects of the increase in congestion taxes in Stockholm. We have partnered with SLL (traffic management) to analyze data from customer satisfaction. We have cooperated with the City of Stockholm regarding the effects of environmental zones. We have used the results to recommend a more innovative policy design and instrument. We have been in regular contact with other project partners in the EU. This collaboration has significantly improved the results.
