Innovative Collaborations for sustainable growth

Reference number
Coordinator Lunds universitet
Funding from Vinnova SEK 6 600 000
Project duration January 2015 - April 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The changes made at the University have increased interaction between business and public institutions, and faculties. The Cooperation Council and the Business Council have developed into important tools to streamline the anchoring and prioritization processes. Another example of new concepts is within prototyping. During the project period, LTH has established the concept of "Open doors" that allows companies to use a range of advanced laboratories while benefiting from skills from researchers.

Expected results and effects

During the project period, the Cooperation Office have received been broadened and clarified assignment. The Cooperation Office is currently working to support the initiation of transdisciplinary projects in collaboration with companies. These initiatives will be increasingly important for the University in meeting global challenges. With upgraded anchorage processes through the Cooperation Council and a broader assignment for the Cooperation Office, the University can be expected to be more effective in collaborating with companies in cross-disciplinary initiatives.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been active during an intensive period at the University with organizational changes in the administration. At the same time, the ongoing organizational changes made it possible for some activities to be implemented directly in the new function. However, some work was delayed and the project applied for extension of the project deadline to April 2017. In the future, the University needs to continue working on developing student innovation activities.
