Innovative and cost effective methods for manufacturing of advanced high-quality composite structures

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to achieve well-developed cost effective methods for manufacturing of advanced and high quality composite structures. The in depth studies in joining, fixturing and vacuum suction of laminates in autoclave process, that the project has enabled, has together contributed to the strengthening of Nordic Aircraft´s position as a supplier/partner in the aerospace industry and as an aircraft manufacturer.

Expected results and effects

The result of the project is that Nordic Aircraft now can offer customers in the aerospace industry and aircraft customers better products at a lower price than before. The research results are clearly visualized and verified in the produced demonstrators. Hopefully, the impact of the project will be that Nordic Aircraft will grow as a business and more jobs will be generated.

Planned approach and implementation

To a large extent, the project has followed the original plan, but with an extended time axis. The extended time axis is not due to the project itself but because of the fact that Nordic Aircraft has had activity peaks due to customer assignments. The work has been done efficiently because much of the work has been accomplished "in house" and due to the collaboration with project partners has been divided into separate work packages with only two partners in the same package.
