Important results from the project
Innovation Powerhouse Sweden´s four focus areas have developed proposals to make Sweden more of an innovation powerhouse. We need resolute action to improve how entrepreneurs are taxed, to give greater autonomy to universities and to utilise the full potential of public procurement. Documentation of work being done in all of Sweden´s regions. This information is in the form of written documents and plans, summaries of the project´s thirteen regional meetings, and interviews with those responsible for innovation strategy in all of Sweden´s counties and regions.
Expected long term effects
Seven counties and regions have put forward innovation strategies; another six will do so in autumn 2013 and one in 2014. Regions are prioritising measures and programmes focusing on innovation and research environments creating more efficient support systems and infrastructure. The regions have also defined their areas of strength, documented success factors. The expectations for national support are dialogue, open innovation and innovation in the public sector . Promote the commercialisation of research results and changes of the support system are also high priorities.
