Important results from the project

The project fulfilled its objective by mobilizing actors from business, the public sector and the innovation system around the development of connected transport infrastructure through a joint innovation competition between InfraSweden and Drive Sweden. It resulted in three finalists with a high level of innovation. The winner, Flox Edge, has moved on to a funded development project. The other finalists have also received support through the innovation program´s network and innovation coaching.

Expected long term effects

The innovation competition is expected to contribute to a more data-driven, safe and efficient transport system. The solutions show how AI, sensor technology and data sharing can help prevent accidents and improve infrastructure planning, operation and maintenance. The winning solution, Flox Edge, can reduce wildlife collisions and generate data for proactive measures. The project has also strengthened collaboration between stakeholders and supports innovation and long-term sustainability.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out as planned through an innovation competition engaging actors from industry, the public sector and the innovation ecosystem. Activities included defining the challenge, communication through program channels and events, jury evaluation and a final event. It resulted in three finalists and one winner. The timeline was followed and collaboration between InfraSweden, Drive Sweden and the jury worked well. The process also created new contacts and collaborations.
