Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to verify and develop Mobilaris innovations for mining in order for Mobilaris to be able to develop a unique product and related services. One important part of the scope was to make a number of technology choices and to evaluate and test these in various mining environments (LKAB and Boliden) and to use research groups at LTU to improve the positioning accuracy (if possible). These objectives have all been met by a wide margin.
Expected long term effects
From our measurements we have made certain choices in architecture and technology. We have been able to verify these in a real mining environment. Functionality has been built upon this technology and evaluated in the same way. The results have been so good that we then were able to take this further to a new product that has been launched.
Approach and implementation
The project was divided into various phases and a number of work packages. The work in the different work packages have been able to proceed isolated and later assembled. In this project we have had the opportunity to perform many tests in a real mining environment. This has proven to be invaluable as we have gained valuable insights about the mining reality, and receive valuable feedback from users.
