Important results from the project
The aim of this projekt has been to illustrate how a Swedish innovation can be implemented in cities and used to solve growing issues concerning waste treatment. A case study has been performed and its conslusions can be used to tell what effects a stationary vacuum system can have in a built environment. The report also gives suggestions for how to implement such a change and how to organise it.
Expected long term effects
The results of this project are both quantitative and qualitative. Well founded decisions concerning the waste treatment requires that the technical, economical and organisational aspects are mentioned. The technical aspects are studied using a case study where a site specific layout design of the stationary system is made. The economical aspect is studied using that layout design and the local costs and rates in Stockholm. The report also makes suggestions for how to organise the implementation and how the financial investments can be allocated.
Approach and implementation
The project group consisted of people from private sector, public sector and a university which has provided a broad spectra of knowledge. Envac has been the main project member acting as project leader who has used the other parties as a source of information and specific knowledge.
