Important results from the project

The goals of the project have been achieved. Both the literature study and the economic experiment proceeded as expected. The literature study also provided a broader insight into how consumers choose food from different aspects. The economic experiment is accompanied by an analysis that can provide many exciting answers and new ideas for future research.

Expected long term effects

The project will contribute to a deeper understanding of how consumers can be persuaded to choose plant-based alternatives. This is done partly by increasing knowledge about the types of products that are likely to be successful in the market. This is done partly by increasing understanding of the policy instruments that can be used to increase consumer interest in plant-based alternatives to animal products.

Approach and implementation

All parts proceeded according to plan. The work on a literature review began with an extensive search of relevant literature and then a synthesis and discussion of results and method. The work on an economic experiment, which is more uncertain in advance, proceeded well with interesting data that remains to be analyzed in detail. The communication of the studies has so far been a question of raising awareness of the studies and communication in the future is about launching the results.
