Purpose and goal

Healthy Habits is an innovation competition on children´s interest in a healthy lifestyle. We believe we have verified that it is possible to declare challenges in the field ´healthy habits´ but our initial objective has gradually given way to a broader perspective. It can be difficult to find the right balance between the clarity of the challenge to present to the public, the chosen niche, and the breadth of initiatives to open up to. It may be that it was too narrow to trigger a greater participation in relation to the relatively limited catchment area we have.

Results and expected effects

With a broader approach and slightly different process, we managed to find a very successful way forward. We achieved both an extensive breadth of expertise and demographic in the participation basis, whilst we got very good feedback on our new process. We see it as a great success that we during work on this innovation competition managed to find an area, partners and a process that will live on as a fixed recurring annual activity. We found natural partners in Medicon Village and LSI, and we will now continue to work together to take the Healthy Habits to new levels.

Approach and implementation

Fast Forward Days consisted of coaching adapted for early startup stages, discussions and cooperation between participants. It started with 12 projects, and a few fell away pretty quickly. We put some demands on the participants, which meant that we expected a natural drop off further along the process. At demo day six projects remained. A jury of project partners assessed the participants´ presentations, eg on the basis of the progress they made during the Fast Forward phase. A winner was chosen who together with three other projects were given place in the final accelerator phase.
