Important results from the project
The aim was to develop new services and products by engaging people with different expertise for solving challenges related to mental illness in young people (11-15år). Another aim was to strengthen relations between actors important for innovation in prevention and treatment of mental illness. The goal was to create prototypes of products and services based on real needs. In total seven teams developed on concept each concepts for products and services,of which one now get support from SKL to continue prototyping and development. 32 people with different skills were engaged in teams.
Expected long term effects
Long-term effects of these new services and products for prevention and treatment is improved health of our residents. Through more efficient and high quality care society´s costs are kept lower. An important direct effect is the the new networks and contacts created between people with different backgrounds, skills and professions in the project. Several participants also indicate that they gained a deeper understanding of mental health as well as the design processes.
Approach and implementation
We have, together with Gustavsberg primary care center (GVC), SKL & Veryday, developed a new hackathon concept adressering challenges within prevention & treatment of mental illness among young people (11-15 years old). The challenges were developed in the project group. We had 72 applicants for the hackathon & selected 32 participants with different skills. Five psychologists from GVC attended. Success factors: relatively controlled creative process facilitated by service design experts from Veryday; participants with own experiences of mental illness attended in the teams.
