Purpose and goal
The project aims to establish a national cluster of excellence for sustainable polymers and fibers that drives the transition to a fossil-free, circular and competitive industry. The goal is to unite Sweden´s leading universities, institutes and companies to create a joint research and innovation platform with global impact.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in an established cluster structure, strategic research agenda and strong industrial anchoring. The effects will be increased innovation power, new sustainable materials and technologies, strengthened Swedish competitiveness and leadership in circular and fossil-free material systems.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented in four work packages: (1) development of vision and research agenda, (2) mobilization of industrial actors, (3) mapping of infrastructure and competencies, and (4) design of governance and complete proposal for a long-term excellence cluster. The work is coordinated nationally.
